Eraserheads' shadow boxes accountants lyrics

One of the Best bands that came out of the 90's in the Philippines Music Arena were the Eraserheads. Damn, I still remember seeing their gigs at Club Dredd (jeez, talking about it - is it even open now? nope, i don't think so). I've always been an avid fan even before they hit the mainstream.
One of the filler songs in one of their album was "Shadow Boxes Accountant" - was a very promising nice melody but as always with e-heads fillers no lyrics were place (that's why you call them fillers - hehehehe). Attached Hereunder is a 3 stanza lyrics you can sing with to that tune's accompaniment - enjoy!!!

(to the tune of - "Shadow Boxes Accountant")

O kelan ko
kaya masisilayan
ang iyong mga matang kay ningning.

At kelan ko
muling matitikman
mga labing sa uhaw ko'y papatid.

O kelan ko
muling mararamdaman
yakap mong mainit
sa pangarap na lang.

April 14

This is one of those relatively less known trivia about the special day - April 14.

this is the only date in the whole year that this happens -

"the GMT (greater meridian time) approximates the Meridian Axis of the Sun".

so if you're watch has been set up on its zone relative to the GMT, and your watch says it's 12noon, You can say "it is 12 noon" and you would be absolutely correct.

ps... it's so nice to know something special happens on your birthday... :p

A day in the Life

A Day in the Life
(An excerpt of the text/book that I’m currently working on)

I’m not so sure how to start this. But I guess I got to let it out sometime.

My day starts up with the sun’s rays playing in my eyes. Waking me up from the lumbering sleep that old Dionysus had given last night whilst a bottle slowly falls from my outstretched hand. I then find myself flustered by the hustle and bustle that grows outside my window, the cacophony of sounds slowly but surely becoming a din that welcomes the day, each movement seen thru this window a mixture of the drama and the harried life each one of us lives. “Wake up” I tell myself and suddenly I see you in my mind saying “Good Morning! [With that beautiful smile] (albeit, the very same one that my memory allows to wander thru every waking and sleeping dream)” that reminder unexpectedly crosses my thoughts and then are just as soon are gone. I suddenly realize that with all the hustles and bustles around me - I am still all alone and then I know deep in my heart that I miss you.

Then my heart begins to ask these simple questions that go on and on like a train of thought that enchants the mind to be preoccupied by utter longing and despair. The thoughts that play on and on like a sonata that doesn’t have an ending and a beginning - like the tales of old that amuses and shocks the very fiber of one’s being. All boiled down to a simple question. Have I ever told you that I love you so much and that you are the most important person to me?

Just how do you tell someone that you love them? I’ve always asked myself how I could do so? For there were many times that I should have and never would. I would have but never did. I might have and never could. And then it just comes out - where did the Muses go? Where did they hide the eloquence that I once carried with aplomb and temerity?

I know not. I perceive not. And I’m totally at a loss.
I love you. Do you tell it thru words that bodes the practice of the mist and the muses? The better to touch your mind?
I love you. Do you show them thru your actions? Actions bold and daring to touch your heart with passion.

Do you tell them though you know that all circumstances and events have and will conspire against you? Knowing that you the very same one that I hold so dear in my heart have indeed been loss? Should I cry and implore the high heavens and fate to intercede - a bargain with yourself and everything you hold dear in life for that one slight chance? That one sliver of hope? That one wisp of possibility and grace that you might and could be favored by life? Yes, I would.

Though you will never know the breadth and the depth of my feelings. Know that you are indeed loved. Know that you are indeed - the most important person to me.

Fate is in truth cruel and gives us nothing but mirthless smiles. Life indeed might never allow me more than a cursory glance once in a while towards you and your path. Indeed, We may never be together - but that’s fine with me. Now that I know that you know, that I treasure that part of my life that we have shared. That I love the times we have been together. That is more than enough.

I never did ask for much. Neither validation nor closure nor anything else can be the answer to this. But knowing that I have been able to say what is and forever will be written in my truest of hearts had made me complete.

Live your life as I do mine. Our paths surely will cross each other for I believe that our lives are somehow entwined. At night, I still look at the moon and the stars. We may never know what possibilities tomorrow might bring. Still, there would always be one slight chance, one sliver of hope and one wisp of possibility and grace.

Be happy. I hope and pray that you are.

Magic and the state of Education

the way FPGMA(False president gma) is looking at the classroom/education crisis is par for the course….she’ld rather do the hocus-pocus and say that there is no classroom crisis happening in the country…than properly address it….

I’m very disappointed with acting Education Secretary Fe Hidalgo. After reporting that there was a shortage of 6,832 classrooms, that Crunch Number suddenly disappeared in one day under the stupid glare of the stupid falsepresident. talk about miracles….It seems that miracles do happen at times, i’m just waiting for one right now - the ouster of the stupid duwende in malacanang…..

The basis of the aforementioned number has been projected even with the changed ratios of students to teachers at 100:1 and thats also with the “two-shift policy” they’ve already implemented where classrooms are used by one class in
the morning and by another class in the afternoon…

In no way does this address the true issue here. That the education of todays’ youth is being ruined….by the clear fact that they are learning less and less…

That stupid-assface false president will never address this perennial problem that affects the youth of today.

you still asks why?

It’s all about money.money for their pockets. money alloted for education went to everything else that was used to maintain the status qou - ie, an usurper in the people’s palace holding on to the position after being caught overturning the people’s will. To hell with education - “ME” always comes first in fpgma’s alphabet instead of ABC’s. What would be taught in school anyway? how can anyone teach values and morality - when the highest office in the land is occupied by one great liar….just imagine that….And that is one reason Filipino students are faring poorly compared to many of our neighboring countries.

and comes the shortages in manpower… teachers and nurses and doctors and just about everybody else trying to leave for greener pastures *(read as - saving one’s self from a sinking boat)…

All the problems we are facing will not go away with fpgma’s temper nor tantrums. Neither will it go away with the creative manipulation of numbers like what Hidalgo or Favila’s departments have done…

We dont need to be lied to again and again to know the real state of the Republic.

We just need one thing to start with and that is the TRUTH…. as always “the truth shall set us free”….

A Call to Arms

May God forgive me for my musings. But, I feel that it would be better for this country to continue in its present state. To continue in its present condition - to lie in wait under the tyranical hand of the usurper in Malacananag.

I still trust in the Lord though I know not his ways or will. For no one knows the thoughts of the inscrutable. All I know is that He has never abandoned our people who in their supreme moments have trusted in Him and made Him the Judge of their cause. I know that His arm has never failed us the Filipino People when, justice long trampled upon and with every recourse gone, the oppressed have taken up arms to fight for his home and wife and children, and for our inalienable rights. No, God is justice and He can never abandon His cause - the cause of liberty, without which no justice is possible.

But you will ask me - why have I asked that this country continue on its present course that will eventually ruin us? I ask because the fruits of justice and vengeance hasn't have time yet to become fully ripe. It is not yet ripe to be harvested. For a time I ask - Let the just and the worthy suffer more in order that the ideas of justice be sown and at harvest time, then we will reap the seeds of hate and smite the heathen and tyrants that occupies the Palace of the People.

Let providence guide us in the persecution of this Dictator. The vileness that rots our society to the core will then be stopped. The vices of this government will soon blossom. A deathly knell to the current occupants of this administration. But let us also sow the seeds of truth, Lest the iniquity that we see now - smother that which we hold dear an equality and justice under the law. This immoral government presupposes that we will never act. All I ask is time. Truly this is a conscienceless administration - full of greedy and servile peons that doesn't respect law. They see everyone of us as inutile, subservient. Let them think that way.

Right now, let us try and secure little by little the fruits of democracy. We must make sure that we are indeed worthy of it, by exalting the intelligence and the dignity of the individual - the common tao - the lowly masa. Then foster the love of justice, of righteousness, and to hold ourselves to exalting the dream of greatness, even to the extent of dying for them, -- and then this a people will reach such a height that God will provide a weapon, the idols of iniquity will shatter and then this administrations' tyranny will crumble like a house of cards. And true liberty and democracy will be achieved.

It is without a doubt that the sorry state of our country is our own fault. The current calamity we owe to ourselves alone, so let us blame no one. If FPGMA would see that we were less tolerating and complaisant with tyranny and more disposed to struggle and suffer for our rights, FPGMA would have long been out of Malacanang and then we would have been celebratinbg the course of liberty. The Filipino people as yet does not have sufficient energy to proclaim, with head erect and bosom bared, its rights to social life, and to guarantee it with its sacrifices, with its own blood. While the elitist of our countrymen, though in private are ashamed with themselves, hear the voice of conscience roar in rebellion and protest, yet in public life keep silence or even echo the words of her who abuses them in order to mock the abused; while we see them wrap themselves up in their egotism, trying with all their might not to break the system and the status qou and with a forced smile praise the most iniquitous actions, begging with their eyes a portion of the booty and the pork barrel. Why would I ask that we be granted liberty? FPGMA would always stay the same - a poor imitation of Marcos and yet worse because she has neither conscience or remorse! Why freedom from tyrany, if the current elitist-slaves of today will be the tyrants of tomorrow? And that there will be such is not to be doubted, for he who submits to tyranny loves it.

We will later see the true measure of the Filipinos again. When the youth of today will generously pour out their hearts and soul to take away our shame, to cleanse this crime and abomination in malacanang. let us bide our time - just a little while until our youth wakes from this malaise and stupor that afflicts them.

PP1017...lifted?

Whoever thinks that the mere lifting of Presidential Proclamation No. 1017 has restored the democratic freedoms we have - has gone totally nuts....

False-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo eventually lifted this so called emergency rule. But as is, The damage has been done on the national psyche. Like a Battered wife, the alliance against FPGMA's rule has tasted the iron hand of FPGMA's unbounded ambition to hold on to power whatever the cost.

The lifting intended to preempt an eventual Supreme Court ruling that would have said that PP 1017 was unconstitutional.

There is no substance to the lifting of PP1017... just like Marcos who "lifted" PD1081 in 1981 but kept everything under a blanket martial law until 1986... even after the lifting of PP1017 - There is still a total curtailment of our liberties under GO #5 with the absence of the freedom of assembly, the continuance of warrantless arrests, and a fuckup threat and total intimidation of the media/presses.

Imagine this - just hours after the lifting of PP 1017, charges were filed against the editor-publisherNiƱez Cacho-Olivares and two columnists (Ike SeƱeres and Herman Tiu-Laurel)of the Daily Tribune newspaper for inciting to sedition. That's a load of BULLSHIT!!!

I shudder to think about our people fighting for freedom and true democracy vs FPGMA.
The nation still languishes under the totalitarian dictatorship that this administration has placed us to cover its' greed, corruption and banality.

The true state of emergency is FPGMA's continued occupance of Malacanang. There is no other issue here than the continuance of an illegitimate administration.

“Hello? Anybody home?”

“Hello? Anybody home?” are the first words we utter when we approach a house and aren’t sure if anyone is inside it….

Now, Imagine uttering those same words to the ears of all the people who have in no small way contributed to the continuance of FPGMA’s (ie., false-president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo) governance and you might feel that indeed you have been hollering to a house (and a mind) without anybody inside it….

Just recently, FPGMA’s allies in our evil House of Representatives declared its inquiry on the “Hello, Garci” tapes closed, thus leaving every other avenue in our search of truth - closed and barred with no other recourse… (ukinam duwende lakas ng kulam mo)….
Now we have EO464 which bars officials of the Executive Branch from appearing in legislative hearings without the President’s permission. This one, by its intent is a fuck-up gag order for people with knowledge on the wheeling-hustling-dealings that has put our treasury on the redline.
But whoever believes that this administration is going to go out of its way to be transparent in its dealings are either so stupid or clearly imbecilic. The actions of all the current officials in the controversies that have been playing with Congress shows everyone the nature of the monster that currently occupies Malacanang. The evasive, outlandish and idiotic replies of administration officials and witnesses to lawmakers’ questions in the legislative’s zarzuela has made a mockery of our legislative processes and showed us the monkeys that occupies our congress and are unfortunately called legislators.

But I guess, we won’t be hearing the end of the stories of graft and corruption. As sure as the sun rises and sets we would always hear and smell the mountain-like garbage that this administration has been hiding from prying eyes. One things for sure, this administration does not care one bit…

Read the following and tell me about it….

1. Budget Secretary Romulo Neri has admitted that P27 billion of the P35 billion of the Marcos loot recovered from Switzerland has already been spent. Huh? “already been spent”…. repeat that again - “already been spent”…… Holy shit…..just where the heck did the money go? There are reports that the P728 million squandered in the fertilizer scam came from this fund. To shed light on it - we have Former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante’s doing her disappearing act and practically failing to attend altogether any Senate hearing on the fertilizer scam probably because of EO464.

2. Then we have PCGG Chair Camilo Sabio, who’s adamant refusal to answer any questions about the reported negotiations and compromise deal with businessman Eduardo Cojuangco Jr. regarding San Miguel Corp. shares bought with coconut levy funds merits an award from the Phil. Bar Asso.for coming up with that parry. Chair Sabio qouted a provision in the law that created PCGG which says, “No member or staff of the commission [PCGG] shall be required to testify or produce evidence in any judicial, legislative, or administrative proceeding concerning matters within its official cognizance.” wow…. touche’ (ukinam isa ka pa)

3. Of course - we still have the “Hello, Garci” inquiry. Though the evil cohorts of the administration has declared it done and sealed…. it would never be finished. Not by a long shot…
And I don’t think I have to talk about it some more here…

4. And how can I leave the 2 Gonzales of the administration….NSA Sec Norberto Gonzales during the Senate hearing on the Venable contract in September 2005 has been quite effective in hiding the truth….Gonzales said he had signed the contract on his own, but dodged questions about the extent of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s involvement in the agreement as well as the funding for the contract.

5. While justice-sec Gonzales has always bombarded us with his inane behavior and outrageous antics trying to cover up the stupidity of this administration….

6. Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye - oh well….what can I say….the much maligned press-sec has after all done a great public service by divulging the Garci files….he has stupidly time after time tried to defend this administration to the delight of people… who hears him and says “kakatawa ano? Me naniniwala pa ba sa taong ito?”

Hmmmm…..

With the Senate effectively having their asses immobilized by Executive Order 464 and a House happily fattened by pork, can you recommend anyone else who will effectively check the executive branch?

I still remember FPGMA’s inaugural address after People Power II. She stressed the following points - a.) in order “to ensure that our gains are not dissipated through corruption, we must improve” the government’s moral standards. B.) “As we do so, we create a fertile ground for good governance based on a sound moral foundation, a philosophy of transparency, and an ethic of effective implementation.”

GO LIAR!!! GO!!!

Lots of crap this FPGMA keeps putting out….always trying to wag the dog…. for in the past five years of her presidency and in the acts of many of her officials and allies none of the two points she emphasized has been done or has even seen the light of day…. makes me wonder a lot….

"my world"

one of my favorite songs circa 2000

Sr-71 band - "My World"

The fastest man in the world, fast asleep in the wheel
Nobody wants to be alone, so how did I get here
When I look at you, I see him staring through me
A wink and a smile, cause he's been inside of you
Is he all the things you, tried to change me into?
Is he everything to you?

(Chorus)Does he make you high, does he make you real?
Does he make you cry? Does he know the way you feel?
Love is all around you, your universe is full
But in my world, there is only you...

I can still find the smell
On my clothes and skin
I can still see your face, when your sleeping next to him
Is he all the things you, tried to change me into?
Tell me ...

[chorus II)Does he make you high, does he make you real?
Does he make you cry? Does he know the way you feel?
Love is all around you, your universe is full
But in my world...

I have my fears, you let them out
Now I wrap myself around you
Like a blanket full of doubt
the darkness burns the sunlight stings
He's your everything

[chorusII]

You make me high! You make me real!
You make me cry! Now you know the way I feel
Love is all around you, your universe is full
But in my world, there is only you...
